How to play Rooster – the easy way!

In this article, we will teach you how to play the card game Rooster. This is a very easy game to play and can be enjoyed by players of all ages.

To start, each player is dealt six cards. The remaining cards are placed face down in the middle of the players, forming the stock pile. The top card of the stock pile is turned over to begin the turn. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game and must play a card from their hand.

The Ace is high and the Two is low. There are four suits: Hearts, Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds. A card of the same suit as the starter card beats any other card of that suit. For example, if the starter card is a club, then any other club beats any other card. If two cards have the same suit, then rank (Ace high or Two low) determines which one wins.

The first player usually plays a low card such as a two or three. If they cannot play a card, then they must draw one from the stock pile. Once they have played a card or drawn one from the stock pile, they must then put another card on top of the stock pile to continue turn. When playing a low card such as two or three, it is important to remember what number was put down last so that you can put up an appropriate high number if you are able to later in the turn (if not playing another low number). For example, if someone puts down a three and then someone else puts down an Ace, that player would need to put down an eight (3 + 5) to keep playing instead of putting down another low number like two or four.

If at any time during their turn a player has no cards left in their hand, they must say "Rooster" immediately and end their turn. They then draw six cards from the deck to get back into hand limit of six cards. The next player then starts their turn where they left off with whatever card was on top of the stock pile at that time (unless someone else took control ofthe stock pile inbetween).

If playing with two people, it's best to use half decks for easier tracking – 26 cards each rather than 52 cards in total deck (13 cards each).

1) Play high court cards whenever possible: Aces through 10s (king = 11 points). The exception to this rule is when someone plays a Rooster – which will always trump any other Trump card played no matter what! 3) Keep track of what numbers have been played recently: This'll help avoid getting stuck without being able to play anything on your turn! In general try and keep putting lower numbers as subsequent ones so that you can build onto them when needed (& hopefully somebody else will do something similar for you too!).
